Counselling Psychology

Clinical Supervision

In psychology and psychotherapy supervision refers to the system whereby the practitioner regularly meets another therapist for their own benefit and to discuss their work. This is required as part of professional good practice.

EMDR

In some circumstances, our system’s capacity to adapt can be overwhelmed. For example when trauma is too strong, such as torture, tragic loss, or a car accident (Servan-Schreiber 2005).

Experienced Professional Psychologist

Jasminder (Jasmin – she/her) is a highly experienced professional psychologist who brings a unique perspective rooted in her British South Asian heritage. She strongly believes in the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit, recognising the need for rest and steadiness to achieve optimal functioning. Jasminder understands that a nurtured body and a compassionate mindset are essential for effectively navigating life’s challenges, including headaches, backaches, breathing difficulties, panic attacks, and stressful living.

Combining her expertise in psychology with her qualifications as a Chartered Psychologist, Clinical Supervisor, EMDR Therapist, and qualified Yoga Teacher Trainer.  Jasminder embraces Yogic and Psychological principles as powerful tools for addressing disharmony and creating balance in life. She believes in a scientific and spiritual approach to healing, embracing evidence-based psychological techniques while remaining culturally sensitive to address individuals’ unique experiences and promote their overall well-being.

In Jasminder’s sessions, she adopts the mantra of “Mens sana in corpore sano,” which means a sound mind in a sound body, originally expressed by Homer in Greece. She integrates mindful practices, simple breathing techniques, and appropriate postural work into her psychological approach. Additionally, she guides individuals with deep relaxation techniques, providing support for sleep deprivation, stress, and trauma history.
